ACE, a commercially operated facility, turns abundant coal into transportation fuels such as diesel and jet fuel in an economically and environmentally sound manner, while providing elegant solutions for landfill cleanup or supplementing the local grid with energy.

Collaboration between individuals across the U.S. has formed a for-profit business called ACE P3 (ACE), which is a subsidiary of ACE Educational Foundation (non-profit organization, located at Ohio Valley University in Vienna, West Virginia).

ACE is a new venture that will also serve as a research and development center for students at Ohio Valley University. The project will create an alternative revenue source for higher education institutions to assist in funding strategic initiatives, provide internships and increase endowments for various scholarships and facilities enhancements.

The facility is designed to utilize approximately 500 tons of coal per day, producing up to 3,000 barrels of liquids per day. The overall estimated cost for the project is expected to be under $300 million.The site will produce primarily diesel, jet fuel and naphtha along with other energy-related byproducts through patented processes utilizing coal as the primary feed-stock.
